Module One • 200
Hour Certification
Module Two • 500 Hour Certification
The onlYoga Ashtanga Teacher Training Program -
Module 2 Practice, History and Method
gives
students who have finished Module 1 an
opportunity to further deepen their knowledge of
Ashtanga Yoga and sharpen their teaching and
adjusting skills. Picking up where Module 1 ends,
the Practice, History and Method Module embeds
the experienced teacher in a class(s) and
encourages them to develop advanced teaching,
marketing and business skills. A direct, hands on
approach to taking an idea from the initial
concept stage and developing it into a well
fleshed out and clearly documented final product
is a big part of Module 2. Our focus in this
module is on identifying the components necessary
to create an inspiring and memorable experience
for the yoga student both in and out of the
class. At
onlyoga we are proud to offer one of the most
comprehensive yoga training programs in the the
Southeast. We believe that standards are
important! Our training programs and school are
both registered with the Yoga Alliance. We strive
to meet and exceed the
500 hour minimum
certification requirements. 500 Hour Yoga
Alliance RYT Teachers are recognized as the most
qualified instructors in the country.

Taking
a multi-disciplinary approach, the syllabus for
this twelve-week teacher training intensive draws
from a wide range of intellectual disciplines.
During the course, the eight limbs of Ashtanga
yoga provide the student with a context from
which to explore the form and texture of the ego.
Critical thinking skills are emphasized and the
student is encouraged to deconstruct the practice
from a variety of perspectives both western and
non-western (physical and spiritual). By the end
of the twelve weeks the student must be able to
demonstrate a strong practical understanding of
the Ashtanga primary series both in and out of
the classroom.
Areas covered include: basic anatomy/physiology,
philosophy of consciousness, the anthropology of
yoga, yoga as cosmology, pranayama, alignment
principles, standing and seated asana sequences,
the eight limbs of ashtanga yoga, mysore style
manual adjustment techniques, taking flight with
the Bandhas, jump-thru and jump-back using your
core, finishing sequence, tristana, and much much
more.
The onlYoga teacher training intensive - Module
One is designed to substantially and
quantitatively deepen the trainee's existing yoga
practice, cultivate teaching and observational
skills and develop or deepen critical thinking
skills. Students must have an existing yoga
practice and be open to the transformational
qualities of the Ashtanga system (physical,
mental and emotional). The training is conducted
in the traditional one on one method of teacher
to student and as such requires a high level of
commitment.

necessary to master teaching and business skills.
Creative problem solving skills are emphasized
and the teacher is required to take ideas from
the concept stage and follow them through to a
final finished product with ample standardized
documentation. By the end of the 12 week
